Table practice / RANK147

Start Game147: aim, pull back for power and build a red–colour pair

Place the white in the D, aim with a mouse or touch, pull back to set the power, then learn the rules currently implemented.

For the site's 2026-11-02 version. This is a two-player, same-device single frame with approximate physics, not online matchmaking or a professional training measurement tool.

Place the white first

Choose Rack again to start over. Before the break, drag the white within the marked D. Placement is constrained to the area and cannot overlap another ball. Releasing a placement drag does not shoot.

For a first attempt, keep the default position and check the player and ball-on labels. Both people share the device; the displayed player names do not represent AI opponents.

Aim, pull back, release

On a computer, move the mouse to turn the cue; on a phone, tap the target point on the table. Then hold on the table and pull back along the cue: the further back, the harder the shot, and pushing forward lowers it. Move back and forth until the power feels right, then release to shoot. The direction locks when you press, so dragging does not change the aim; for small corrections use the ◀ ▶ buttons or the arrow keys, and hold a button to keep turning.

While charging, the cue draws back, the short aim line grows and the power bar shows the percentage. Pushing back to the start and releasing, or pressing Esc, cancels the shot. You can also drag the power bar and release, or set the power and press Shoot. There is no spin or cue-ball technique to choose: every shot is struck at centre ball, so you only practise direction and power. Wait for all balls to stop before the next stroke.

Treat the lines as geometry

A short white line shows the shot direction; it has a limited length and does not draw cushion rebounds. When it reaches an object ball, a ghost ball marks the contact point and a short gold line shows where the object ball will go.

The guides ignore power, friction and spin. A line towards a pocket is not a promise of a pot. The prohibited icon warns of a possible illegal first contact or scratch but does not block play. Actual collisions and pockets determine the result.

Try one red and one colour

After a legal red, aim at a colour and play without selecting it. The first colour actually contacted becomes the game's target. A legal colour pot is respotted before returning to a red. Scores and turns settle after all balls stop.

Red–colour play, ordered clearance, common fouls and colour respotting are supported. Free balls, miss-related replacement and asking an offender to play again are not. Reloading, changing language or leaving the game resets the frame; there is no save feature. Landscape offers a larger table on phones, while full screen and orientation lock depend on the browser.
